Surprised I had never heard of this one before... 2010, it's got Woody Harrelson, Ron Perlman, Josh Hartnett's pedostash, and Demi Moore. (I don't know any of the other actor's names.) Ron Perlman is the very obvious bad guy, Demi Moore is Ron Perlman's expensive whore, Josh Hartnett's pedostash is the good guy/main character, and Woody Harrelson is basically Woody Harrelson as a bartender.
Josh Hartnett's pedostash was obviously a big distraction for me. I get that they were trying to go for a cowboy look, but failed and got a pedophile instead. There's not many ways to make Josh Hartnett look bad, but they certainly found one of them. The other main character was cool, but at the beginning of the movie I was trying to guess if they were male or female, and I got it wrong!
The synopsis is pretty stupid even by my standards. It takes place at some point in the future after a worldwide ban on guns, yet there doesn't appear to be any sort of global power to enforce said ban, people just obey it.
So... Guns were banned worldwide at some point in the past and everyone now uses swords again. Even the gang leaders who seem to control everything and seem like they could use guns if they really wanted to....
The main characters have to go kill the bad guys because... That's just what main characters do to bad guys.
If there was another reason for it, I must have missed that part.
Don't dismiss this movie just because the whole plot/story kinda sucks, it's actually very watchable.
I made it all the way through it on my 2nd try.
The cool thing about this movie is the style. It doesn't attempt realistic at all. The backdrops look like theater backdrops in the best kinda way, and the colors and characters are very exaggerated.
